Anyone looking for a painter??

One day I was thinking about how out of fashion our table looked and I decided I wanted to paint it black. This didn't sound like that big of a deal. However, I had to sand it, prime it, and paint two coats on it and I am here to tell you this is no little task. Therefore, after a big mess and many, many hours I am done. Wahoo! I am very happy with the results and thought I would post the before and after pictures so you can all be impressed. :)

Womens Fitness Celebration 5k

Some of my friends and I did a 5K this weekend. There were six of us who went together. It was in downtown Boise and it was all women participants. I got roped into it by my friend Maria (thanks a lot Maria). When I woke up the morning of the race and saw it was raining I tried really hard to think of a way to get out of it. Unfortunately I couldn't come up with a good reason before they came to pick me up. It ended up being a lot of fun despite the pouring rain. Here are some pictures from the event.

After the race they had a bunch of free food around. This is Maria and I getting our picture taken with Subway's Jared.
Here are the six of us soaking wet Me, Andrea, and Maria at the park where the race ended

Camping in Idaho

Our camera did not do this sunset justice
Morning walk along the beach
Wearing Daddy's hat
Towards the end of August we went camping for the first time in Idaho. Actually it was the first time since Shawn was born. We went up to a campground that was right on Lake Cascade. When I say "right on" I mean RIGHT on. From the door of our tent to the sandy beach of the lake was only 35 steps. It was so beautiful. We really loved it and we got a chance to use our Coleman stove for the first time since we got it for Christmas two years ago.

It was freezing cold that night (even though Jon wouldn't agree). Shawn didn't sleep well and ended up only sleeping if I held him on top of me, which made for a very comfy night sleep. :) It was still a lot of fun to go camping again.

Nice hair

Shawn took a three hour nap yesterday which never.....ever....happens. He woke up with quit a special hair style. It looked an aweful lot like his dad's hair when he wakes up. Like father like son. Then I gave him his brush and he tried to brush his own hair. Just thought it was cute.

Seattle Trip in August

Shawn and I flew up to Seattle to spend a week with Jon. He has been working in Seattle a lot this summer. The trip was a lot of fun. We went around and say many of the tourist spots and Shawn and I checked out many local parks during the day. Jon's company paid for part of our trip so that was really nice. I love Seattle. It is absolutely beautiful and the city itself is pretty cool too. I think I could live there....if it wasn't for the lack of sun. :)

Fall is arriving

As summer is drawing to an end I can't decide if I should shed a tear from the prospect of the upcoming winter or just enjoy the beauty of fall. I really do love fall. Spring used to be my favorite but I have converted to autumn as my favorite time of year. The cooler weather and changing colors puts me in an almost giddy mood. I already put up all of my fall decorations and I find myself lighting a pumpkin scented candle almost everyday. Why couldn't it be Spring or Fall all year round?? :)
