James and Allison Visit

My brother James and sister-in-law Allison were able to come visit us last weekend from Texas. It was so SO fun to have them here and everyone was sad to see them leave. All the little kids were trying to figure out how to get them to stay and all of us adults were trying to think of ways to get James fired so he would have a good reason to leave Texas. We were happy we were at least able to see them for a few days.
We went to St. George for a few days to get away. I know, who goes to St. George in the summer to get away. It was really fun though and we had a blast even though we had 17 of us in a 2 bedroom house (that includes 6 young kids).
We went to see "The Little Mermaid" at Tuacahn. I love that place. It is such an awesome setting outside against the red rocks. It brings back so many memories from my childhood. The play was AWESOME! I really thought they did an excellent job. Too bad it started at 9:00 PM and didn't end until almost 12:00. Poor Shawn was so good for how tired he was.

The next day we went into Zions National Park. Shawn's highlight of the day was taking the bus through the park. You can see by his pose how serious this was. He thought he was big stuff.
Hiking up to the narrows.

Some of the gang up at the narrowsTiff and me with out cute little hiking faces. :)
James and J.P. thought it would be fun to bring a raft and go down the stream/river. It was fun until a ranger told us it was illegal and we could get a fine. Oh well, it was fun idea.

James trying to dry off since he fell into the river. I didn't realize that was what he was doing so he did not appreciate when I poured water on his neck trying to cool him off. ;)
The day that James and Allison left we headed to a picnic in the park. James was playing hide and seek with the kids. If you look closely you can see all the boys hiding behind the rock and James acting like he can't figure out where they all went. Evan very much enjoyed the bark at the park. Whatever makes him happy, right?Allison, James, and meQuality time with cousin Natalie

Making Up for Lost Time

Blogger hasn't let me post anything for a few weeks now so I have some catching up to do. I finally got my last post to load yesterday and now I am going to post more random pictures and then another post about our St. George weekend.

One day Shawn woke up and was adamant about needing a pirate ship. So even though I had a list a mile long of things I needed to get done, this is what I accomplished that afternoon. He also has a steering wheel for it, but it's not in this picture.
Aunt Deanna helped Shawn grow his muscles. He was literally shaking while trying to flex his muscles so hard.
I had a girls weekend with some friends a couple weeks ago. Before I left for the airport, we ate downtown by the new city center and the kids loved the fountains.

One of Shawn's new favorite poses when I tell him to smile for the camera.

Plethora of Pictures

Don't you love the word Plethora? It is so fun to say! We have been having so much fun this summer and I have been to busy to post it on the blog. Therefore, I have decided to just post a bunch of pictures and show a little of what we have been up to. I hope you are all enjoying the summer as much as we are!

Shawn and Millie loved waving at the wagon every time it went byLunch get-together with some of my freshman year roommates. That was my favorite year of college. So fun. The summer after Freshman year I went to Boston, New York, Maine, ect with the two on the left (Katy "Lapi", and Heather "Little Heather").
These girls are awesome!

My sister Amy had to go to girls camp so I had her kids for one of the days. We had a picnic, went to the park, played in the kiddie pool (twice) and watched a movie.

Sometimes I wonder why we go to church when we have a 1 year old and 1:00 church. We spend most of the 3 hours sitting in the hall or up on the stage in the gym. One morning I accidentally gave Shawn one of the baby spoons to eat his oatmeal with. He promptly went to the drawer and pulled out the two different kinds of spoons I am allowed to give him. This is serious business.

This is Shawn showing me how much room he has left in his tummy for lunch
He loves to make crazy faces now when I try to take pictures of him
We were able to go to Stadium of Fire and it was AWESOME. The music was great and the fireworks were amazing.

That's all I am going to post for now. Stay tuned for picture of our yard that we finally finished and pictures of our veggie garden. (don't mind the captions that are underlined. I couldn't get blogger to undo that)
